THE ANALOGUE RESET

17 small ways to spend an autumn evening (that don't involve your phone)

THE ANALOGUE RESET

What if reclaiming your evenings wasn't about another wellness challenge, but simply rediscovering the things you genuinely enjoy?

Think of this as your autumn bucket list. There’s absolutely no pressure to tick every box. Instead, consider it a reminder that slowing down can be surprisingly simple…

 □ Brew something comforting

A mug of chai, a warming hot chocolate or your favourite herbal tea. Bonus points if you drink it without scrolling…

 □ Read one chapter

Not a whole book. Just one chapter before bed.

 □ Light the candle earlier

Don't save your favourite candles for guests. Light your Wind Down Candle as daylight fades and let it become the signal that work is officially over.

 □ Have a proper catch-up

Call a friend. Leave a voice note. Better still, invite someone round.

 □ Run a proper bath

Add a few drops of The Wind Down Essential Oil Blend, leave your phone outside the bathroom and stay in until you’re wrinkly.

 □ Write tomorrow's to-do list

Get it out of your head and onto paper – it’s a surprisingly helpful task.

 □ Bake something

Banana bread, crumble, cinnamon biscuits... the house smelling incredible is half the reward.

 □ Watch the sunset

Even if it's just from the kitchen window.

 □ Try a puzzle

Crossword, Sudoku, jigsaw – anything that keeps your hands busy instead of your thumb.

 □ Give your home its evening cue

Flip on a lamp, switch off the big light and let your Wind Down Reed Diffuser quietly do the rest.

 □ Learn one new thing

Ten minutes of Italian. Your grandma’s famous recipe.

 □ Have dinner at the table

No TV, no phones – just food and conversation.

 □ Start an autumn playlist

The songs you'll associate with this season every time you hear them.

 □ Declutter one drawer

Not the whole house. Just that one ‘rubbish’ drawer you’re always embarrassed to open in front of people.

 □ Take a ten-minute evening stroll

No destination required.

 □ Write down three good things

We’re not talking about gratitude journalling. But just three simple moments from today you don't want to forget.

□ Go to bed twenty minutes earlier

Sometimes the most restorative evening plans involve cancelling the rest of them.

FOUNDER NICOLA'S EDIT

For me, slowing down starts with simple rituals.

Evening walks with Mitzi

Autumn air, dusk skies and a walk with my dog Mitzi. It's my favourite way to clear my mind and gently transition from a busy day into the evening.

Limited Edition Berry Blush Wellbeing Pod & The Wind Down Essential Oil Blend

A few drops of this fragrance instantly changes the mood at home. It's become my cue to slow down and switch off.

Curling up with a good book

I'm an avid reader, and there's nothing better than getting lost in a great story. Right now, I'm loving The Correspondent by Virginia Evans.

Perfect Night's Sleep Magnesium Body Butter

Taking time for a mini pause with this. I massage this in slowly before bed, then breathe in for seven seconds and out for eleven. It's a simple ritual that helps me feel calmer before sleep.
