As you know we’re big on the small steps which can help to make a BIG difference when it comes to better wellbeing and whilst we’re not usually one for hopping on trends, we couldn’t help but notice some of the ones set to soar this year. Here are some of our favourites we think are worth giving a go...
Let’s Talk Longevity
Undeniably the ‘trend’ shaping most of the others we’ll tick off here... longevity. Expect to see this word popping up a lot. Put simply, it’s all about looking at ways in which we can live longer and thrive with age. The result? A big focus on our overall health and wellbeing. It’s both millennials and Gen Z driving this one with millennials ageing and becoming more aware of health concerns and their causes, and Gen Z seeing their parents doing so and then looking at preventative measures for themselves. Carry on reading to uncover some of the best tips and tricks for popping your wellbeing to the top of the agenda...
Get Yourself Some Wearable Tech
Biohacking has been gaining some serious momentum over the last year and whilst it does sound a little extreme and futuristic, it's essentially just about finding out what works for you. More about this here - What Is Biohacking And How Can It Boost Your Wellbeing? One of the best ways you can ‘biohack’ your way to better wellbeing is by investing in a fitness tracker or wearable device like a Whoop band. A Whoop (and other similar devices) work by giving real-time data such as your heart rate variability (HRV) and resting heart rate, detailed insights into your sleep patterns and how much stress or strain you've undertaken. It's also great for drawing patterns in how certain lifestyle factors affect your recovery and sleep such as nutrition, hydration and other activities.
"I'm a big advocate of these wearables as it really helps us to avoid this 'one size fits all' approach when it comes to wellbeing," says Dr Frankie Jackson-Spence. "Instead you'll notice things which are unique to you. For me, I really like it that it tells me when to slow down. I've learnt to swap out some of my runs or HIIT sessions for more restorative and restful movements and have also noticed a big impact on my sleep on nights I've worked late or been scrolling on my phone. I've also been using wearables with my patients in clinic for research lately too. I've been tracking their activity and step count as a marker of quality of life. If they are more active, it's actually showing in many cases they are experiencing less side effects of treatment which is super interesting," she adds.
According to Euromonitor, global sales of smart wearables are expected to reach double-digit growth from 2024 to 2026.
Tune Into Your Specific Sleep Needs
Whilst we're on the subject of tracking our habits, these wearable devices and watches can really help us fine-tune our sleep schedules and suggest the specific amount of sleep out body actually needs. "The generic guidance is often that we all need 7-9 hours but there is in fact new research that suggests women do in fact need more sleep than men," says Dr Frankie. "Our sleep need is also dependent on so many other factors such as how active we are. My Whoop and it often tells me I need between 9 and 9.5 hours a night which is a lot! Using these devices gives us really personalised and targeted information about our own specific needs and we shouldn't feel guilty if we need more sleep. The key is, do you wake up feeling energised and refreshed? If not, you're probably not getting enough good quality sleep," she adds. Stay tuned for a piece all about bettering your sleep quality...
Turn Your Focus To Fibre
Much like how we have been told to up our protein intake, fibre is now in the spotlight as being the new unsung hero of a healthy diet. According to the British Nutrition Foundation, most of us are only averaging around 20g a day which means we’re falling short of the recommended 30g. “Fibre isn’t just about keeping things moving,” says Eleanor Hoath, Nutritionist and Editor at Healf. “It does in fact play a huge role in our gut health which is linked to everything from better digestion to boosting your mood and even strengthening your immune system. Adding more fibre to your diet can be as simple as swapping to wholemeal bread and opting for brown rice and pasta. You could also try throwing a handful of beans or lentils into soups, stews or salads. Another of my top tips would be to keep the skins on your fruits and veggies where you can."
Try A Digital Detox Or Book A Tech-Free Escape
Whilst we may be choosing to tune into tech more than ever more, it seems we’re also craving time to completely unplug too. Whilst digital detoxes are nothing new, 2025 will see more of us stepping away from our screens and instead looking with reconnect with ourselves and nature. Why? It seems we are all becoming more aware of the toll it takes on our wellbeing such as poor sleep, increased feelings of stress and a lack of productivity and focus. Tech-free spaces and dedicated retreats are on the rise and we have to say... we’re here for it.
One of our favourites has to be the aptly named, Unplugged – a unique off-the-grid cabin experience in the UK where upon arrival, you lock away your phone. Yep... no scrolling and no WiFi. Instead a chance to reset and recharge amongst nature. “There are so many benefits to unplugging yourself from technology – better sleep quality, lower stress levels and increased focus” says Hector Hughes, Co-Founder of Unplugged. “Pairing going offline with being surrounded by nature really is a super boost for your wellbeing and the benefits don’t end as soon as you go home. In fact, guests often comment on the extended feelings of calm and creativity as well as a renewed relationship with their devices which results in lower screen time and new habits to be offline more often.”
If you’re unable to book a getaway, try to set yourself some new boundaries. Perhaps no scrolling in bed. We’re big advocates of this one, especially in the evening, it can really help you to bank a Perfect Night’s Sleep. That, and of course our Pillow Mist.
Get Familiar With, And Go Looking For Glimmers
We’ve all heard of triggers when it comes to our wellbeing, but what about glimmers? Best described as little sparks of joy or warmth that make you feel cosy and comforted, it’s all about tuning into the good things. Whether that’s a beautiful sunrise, sipping your favourite coffee or lighting your favourite NEOM Candle, this year try turning your attention to glimmers... the small moments that really do light up your day and help you to feel good.
With close links to gratitude which has also been proven to help with feelings of happiness, the more we are able to notice what we are grateful for, the more glimmers you’ll start to notice. Our brains are super clever and can be trained to get better at finding these little bursts of joy and appreciation.
According to the WGSN’s Future Consumer report, glimmers are set to become a powerful tool for coping with challenges too. In a world that can feel a bit overwhelming and uncertain at times, these moments of light can really help comfort us and give a sense of safety. Give An NAD+ Supplement A Go
Euromonitor predicts global sales of supplements will reach $139.9 billion by the end of 2025... up from $127.2 billion in 2024. Whilst we can fully appreciate the supplement space can feel pretty overwhelming with SO many choices, one which is taking centre stage is NAD+. But what is it? NAD+ (Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide) is a coenzyme found in every cell of our body which is key for energy, DNA repair and regulating cell function. Research suggests that NAD+ levels drop off as we age, so boosting levels can be helpful in slowing ageing.
Euromonitor also reported a big increase in the number of NAD+ products online from 409 in 2023 to a whopping 1,137 in 2024. Fancy giving it a go? Artah's Enhanced NAD+ Complex helps to increase NAD+ whilst also helping with mental clarity, performance, recovery, metabolism and energy levels. Sign. Us. Up.
Prioritise IRL Connection
We're also seeing a big rise in the desire for real-life connections and a sense of community more than ever before. Mintel’s 2025 Global Consumer Trend report highlights that after the pandemic, we're all craving stronger, face-to-face relationships in a digitally connected world. Their report also explains how so many of us are seeking out intentional communities and events.... something which Meetup have nailed. A platform all about hosting events and get togethers, you can filter by your location and discover what's on near you. From fitness classes and walks to book clubs and plenty more, Meetup fosters real-life connections by bringing people together over shared interests and hobbies.
Talking of community, we've been building our very own over on Facebook - The NEOM Wellbeing Club where you can chat to other NEOM lovers and hear all about our exclusive IRL events.
